We assisted an industrial client with the installation of a motor control centre and human-machine interface to improve their grain handling capabilities.
With energy costs rising, Barwon Health required a sustainable and cost-effective solution to meet their ever-increasing demand for reliable power.
In conjunction with KPL, we installed and commissioned over 3 MW of solar across the Western District Health Service – overhauling more than twenty individual sites.
The largest of these sites saw over 370 kW of solar installed across two buildings at the Barwon Health McKellar Centre
Barwon Health now have a cost-effective, sustainable, and reliable solution to their increasing energy needs – setting them in good stead for future additional capacity demands. The system features integrated secondary protection monitoring which utilises new wireless technology to allow the system to be switched on and off depending on the status of the power supply. This also allows for regular monitoring of solar output, power consumption, and backup generator systems, while notifying Barwon Health of any issues across the Western District network.
The works were completed with a safety-first focus, ensuring minimal impact on daily operations despite the large scale installation.
Given the highly sensitive nature of electrical work in the health and aged care industries, coupled with the sheer size of the installation, this project required immense planning and precise project management – two areas where we excel. On top of this, the design of the buildings in which installation took place was not conducive to conventional solar installation. We were able to provide specific engineering and design to accommodate the curvature of the architecturally designed buildings and ensure that we were a one-stop solution for Barwon Health.
