Healthcare Solar

With the rising cost of energy, and with a focus to reduce their carbon footprint, our client required a sustainable energy solution across more than twenty of their sites.

The Challenge

With energy costs rising, a Healthcare provider required a sustainable and cost-effective solution to meet their increasing supply demand costs.

The QA Electrical Solution

In conjunction with KPL, our team installed and commissioned over 3 MW of solar across the District for our customer – overhauling more than twenty individual sites. The largest of these sites with over 370 kW of solar installed across two buildings at one site.

The QA Advantage

Given the highly sensitive nature of electrical work in the health and aged care industries, coupled with the sheer size of the installation, this project required immense planning and precise project management–two areas where we excel. In addition, the design of the buildings in which installation took place was not conducive to conventional solar installation. Our team were able to provide specific engineering and design to accommodate the curvature of the architecturally designed buildings and and highlight our ability to provide a full EPC solution for our Healthcare client.

Our Results

The Healthcare provider now have a cost-effective, sustainable, and reliable solution to meet their increasing energy needs–setting them in good stead for future additional capacity demands. The system features integrated secondary protection monitoring which utilises new wireless technology to allow the system to be switched on and off depending on the status of the power supply. This also allows for regular monitoring of solar output, power consumption, and backup generator systems, while notifying the customer of any issues across the District network. The works were completed with a safety-first focus, ensuring minimal impact on daily operations despite the large scale installation
